To save some (much needed) money I decided to ditch one of my webservers so, from now on, Queer Eyes is going to have a new "home".
Please bookmark the new url because the old one will be dead in a few days:

Here's a S1 animated "Heroes" mood theme (which I made ages ago and I'm finally posting now, yay me).
All the animated icons posted here are specifically created for the mood theme so they can't be used as LJ user icons (they are bigger than LJ's 40 Kb limit). I will post the "optimized for LJ" version of all the animated gifs later (it will take me some time to code that post)...

Sort of... ;))
Well, I'm still feeling a bit anti-social, but I'm trying to slowly get back into the swing of things...in fact, I just updated Queer Eyes with the usual stuff, plus brand new shiny (BIG!) screencaps from episodes 107, 108, 109, 110 and 111. Hope you'll enjoy! :-D
Also, I'm trying to find enough icon-inspiration to - at least - make the icons I promised to the lovely blogathon people... but in order to do that I need your help. See, some of the folks there, wanted S5 icons and since I don't have the episodes, I can't cap the scenes they requested.
I need a pic of S5 Gus (with or without Brian), a pic of happy!B/J from 512 and finally, Justin from 511 (during the proposal)... if any of you guys could kindly cap those scenes for me or point me to some place where I can find those caps, I'd be very, very grateful. :x:x:x:x
In the meantime, I'll start working on the other requests...I just hope they won't suck donkey ass... :-)

- As some of you noticed, I'm not around lj these days...partly it's the "Summer effect" - I always withdraw from lj during the summer - and partly it's because I'm not feeling the LJ-B/J love lately. :( I do think it's just temporary and I hope you'll forgive me for being so terribly antisocial... *hopes* I'll - probably - be back into reading/commenting mood soon, but for now my free time is mostly devoted to reading "Stephanie Plum" fanfiction...*rolls eyes at herself*
- About LJ/SA...what can I say, I'm not leaving livejournal until they'll kill my account or my whole f-list will migrate away. :|
That said, thanks to this super-nifty program, I exported all my lj entries to my greatest journal and insane journal, just as a backup precaution. Also, from now on, I'll try to cross post here and there, just to keep everything up-to-date. If you have a gj or an ig, feel free to friend me: paddies.greatestjournal.com and paddies.insanejournal.com. I will friend you back as well. :-)
- Speaking about being a bad lj-er...I owe a bunch of icons to the fabulous sev_4_blogathon folks! A hot summer day eighteen, nineteen, twenty - what is this, a missile launch? - uhm... a bunch of years ago...an event of biblical proportion happened. A beautiful girl named  Ree was born.
With her mere presence, she made the world a better place...she was speshul.
With the passing years, her speshulness grew and grew from its wee stage to full mindblowing un-stoppable speshulness. Only a few people in the whole world shared that kind of speshulness: a guy named Gale Howard Higgins Harrison Harold, mostly famous for his gigantic balls talent and a girl named Gio, most famous for her gigantic dorkyess love for pretty boys making out.
Thanks to the cosmic powers of destiny, these thee speshul people crossed paths - kinda - and their life drastically changed since that fabulous day. :D :D :D
My life wouldn't be the same without you in it. You are my Sunshine, my knight in shiny bra, my wife, my partner in life and death and everything in between. I love you. ♥

So yes, "Stephanie Plum's" fanfiction (which, btw, is - for the most part - really, really bad) totally ate my brain. I think I'll give myself a few more days and then I'll have to let this obsession go...*sighs*
In other news, I wanted to let you know that - despite being totally obsessed distracted - I managed to update Queer Eyes, and that the lovely amelialourdes offered to make high quality (DVD rips) screencaps from the whole series. I'll be slowly adding them on-line as soon as she'll send them to me. I have already updated 101-106, so if you want, you can check out gigantic B/J kissing (and fucking and being totally cute and young and pretty and did I mention cute?).... :-)
Also, if you have some free time or are bored or just feel like helping out a friend, take a look here and fill one of the surveys...pretty please?

Hello omg.
I thought I should let you know that I'm not dead and that I'm sorry I've been the shittiest commenter ever (more than usual) during these past few days. The thing is....I've been reading.
Yes. I've been reading and when I read there is nothing that comes between me and my book until I'm done. It's almost pathological. :|
So what is Gio reading, you'll ask? Well...it's not Shakespeare, or the latest Pulitzer prize. It's not fanfiction and it's not even porn (omg)...it's...Janet Evanovich's novels. ;-)
I know, I know...it's just...I can't help it. I'm hopelessly addicted. :-) I just finished the eighth book so I only have five more to go...considering I read the first eight in 4 days, I'll probably be back to "normal" soon... :-)
In other news, severina2001 is doing it again. ;))
She'll be participating in Blogathon -- staying up for 24 hours straight and updating her blog, sev_4_blogathon with new and exciting content every 30 minutes, on behalf of The Aids Committee of Toronto and their upcoming Walk for Life.
Also, etharei, mclachlan, and ayesakara will all be joining the line-up on July 28th to each share a new story...and, in a moment of craziness weakness, I promised Sev that I'll make a personalized icon (on request) for everyone who's going to donate for her cause. I hope you'll check it out (and maybe donate something if you can)!
Finally, I'm home alone for an entire week and instead of throwing wild parties full of naked boys and booze I'm spending every single minute reading. I fail at life. :|

I'm not done with the re-installing phase yet (what can I say...I did have a shitload of programs) and I still have to get used to the new screen, but I'm mostly up and running again, yay! :D
In fact, I even updated Queer Eyes with the usual, hope you'll enjoy!
As for the files I definitely lost...I was able to get back the QaF s2 ones (because the fantabulous sarahj2222 sent me the original S2 DVDs YAY!!!!), I even learned how to rip DVDs and that made me incredibly giddy. :-)
I still need 117 and 311, tho and the S1 finale (aka 105) of Hex. If any of you guys could possibly help me out finding those files (WITH THE RIGHT ASPECT RATIO!!! - I downloaded them from mininova and they were all wrong :|) I would be forever grateful. :x:x:x:x
Finally, since 219 was one of the episodes I had to rip, I realized something: the "red sweater kiss" is the sexiest, hottest, most amazing scene in all the five QaF seasons. I know it's incredibly angsty and sad...but...the sheer passion and the wild need expressed in that scene literally take my breath away.
There is nothing more erotic than that. *sigh*

So, I have some good news and some bad news...
+ The good news is that the computer guy (a friend of a friend) was able to save a good chunk of the files I had on my damaged HD.
- The bad news is that said HD is totally and utterly dead.
+ The good news is that computer guy offered to assemble a brand new comp for me. :-)
- The bad news is that I don't have the money to pay it right now. :-(
+ The good news is that - since comp!guy is a sort of friend - he told me I can pay it in a bunch of installments (hopefully evil!boss will give me something soon...*prays*)
- The bad news is that I'll have to re-install everything I had on my old comp (Photoshop brushes!! *cries*)...plus, I lost all my internet bookmarks. :|
+ The good news is that at least I have my email address book and folders. I would have seriously killed myself without it.
In conclusion, I'll hopefully have a new computer by this afternoon/evening, I'll transfer all the "rescued" files into my brand new 500 Gb external HD, I'll beg you guys to send me the stuff I definitely lost, and then I'll start the big "operation re-install"...:-)
I'll try my best to reply to your oh-so-kind comments and to catch up with all the stuff I missed during the weekend (Pride! New Gale pics!), but I don't know if I'll be able to do it properly... sorry about that! *sighs*

See, I was still basking in my "permanent account" bliss when I switched my comp on and tadaaa: blue screen of death. :(( :(( :((
Yes, people. My whole partition "G" is gone. GONE. All my QaF episodes, BSG episodes, HEX episodes, movies, music, the psd files of my icons, the porn....all gone. *killz self*
The tech guy I talked to said that he could maybe, possibly try to recover something, but he's not sure. The only thing he's sure about is that I'll have to buy a new computer, because mine is either dead or not-so-slowly dying. :((
I dunno where I'll find the money (a lot of begging will be involved, I can see it), but I'll have to do something, before the HD will definitely die on me. *sighs*
In conclusion, I'm probably going to disappear for a few days (I'll still be able to check out LJ/post from work) until this computer stuff will be fixed, one way or another. I will miss you all MADLY.

OMG HELLO. :-)
I'm here, once again, to ask for your help, fellow English-native speakers!
My friend fiore_di_fuoco (do you remember her?) finally completed the questionnaire that she had to write down for her thesis. But, before getting the final approval from her TA, she needs an English-speaker person to read it, and see if her English translation works.
You know, check out the grammar/spelling aspect, but also see if there are sentences that sound somehow "wrong" (given that the thing is translated from Italian). Basically she needs a beta...;-)
It shouldn't be too difficult or time consuming, so if any of you guys could maybe, possibly help her out with this, it would be totally awesome (and I'd love you forevah and evah. She would too. Actually, she promised her firstborn to you, just so you know...).

For some weird reason fiore_di_fuoco wanted to know my opinion about the whole LJ!purge thingy. I started writing a long rambly post about morality and freedom of speech and censorship...but then I re-read the whole thing and I realized that this is really not the point, here. At all.
The point is that the LJ/SA people were (for some unfathomable reason) scared shitless of a lawsuit (or, possibly, they were afraid that some sponsors would refuse to associate their ads with "questionable" contents) and reacted too quickly and very, very, very badly. They wanted to cover their asses and instead, they caused more damage than actual good.
The LJ/SA people are not homophobes, racists, religious freaks or an evil bunch of bastards...they're a business company. They don't fight moral battles, they work to make money. If something is threatening their business, they take it down. Without pity.
Do I think they're right? Mostly yes. Their business, their rules. Even tho it sucks.
Do I think they handled this whole thing in the best possible way? Hell no. Not even remotely.
Hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes. Next time some "warrior" group will threaten to sue for such a silly thing like LJ interests (or icons or whatever-the-fuck) they'll think twice before starting to delete journals...
That, or people will end out finding a new shiny playground.
